Daimler Sovereign, elegance ‘pur sang’

Jaguar Daimler Sovereign was build between 1966 and 1983 and it stands for higher quality and luxury. It became the upgrade for the XJ-series. It was a most exciting project to be part of. Full body restoration, overhauled engine and interior.

We started to disassemble the car, to locate all bad spots in the chassis, so those could be repaired. We selected all chromium parts, so they could be sent to be chromized.

Most major parts of a Daimler can be easy fixed or overhauled. Here you see the unique rear suspension. The whole unit is to be placed in one go.

Conversion Mercedes W110 oldie to daily

This car was known as the ‘Heckflosse’, because of its wings and produced between 1961 and 1965. The most of them were equipped with a 55 hp diesel engine. Not really suitable for todays traffic. We stripped the whole car, took all the bad parts out and updated/restored it for daily use. Beneath you can see how we started and as German quality suspects: not that bad.

Here you can see all the repairs and replacements we have done. New body parts are difficult to get or amazing expensive, if we can we repair, we do.

We rebuilt the W110-190D with overhauld or new parts. We swapped the slow diesel engine for a 2JZ Toyota engine with automatic gearbox. Added some features like power-steering, central lock and a rear view camera.

It has been a while that we did this beautiful car. We took the car apart until the last bold, repaired the chassis and rebuild it. We used new parts and reconditioned parts. There are only a few pictures to show, due the loss of a hard drive.
